Imagine a World Like This…
Many of us remember that old Coke commercial about teaching the world to sing in perfect harmony.
It was simple.
But it stayed with people.
Why?
Because it painted a picture of something people still long for.
A world with more harmony.
More kindness.
More love.
More people standing together instead of tearing each other apart.
And even though that commercial was from many years ago, the idea behind it still touches something inside of us.
Because deep down, most people do want a better world.
They want less hate.
Less bitterness.
Less anger.
Less cruelty.
Less division.
They want people to get along.
They want people to care.
They want a world where kindness is normal again.
So let’s imagine that for a moment.
Imagine a world where people were quicker to show kindness than anger.
Wouldn’t that feel different?
Imagine a world where people smiled at strangers without suspicion.
Wouldn’t that change the way a simple trip to the store feels?
Imagine a world where neighbors actually cared about one another again.
Not just waved once in a while.
Not just nodded from across the yard.
But actually cared.
Imagine a world where people listened before judging.
Imagine a world where mercy came before bitterness.
Imagine a world where people did not always assume the worst.
Imagine a world where love was not just something people talked about, but something they lived.
Wouldn’t you want to live in a world like that?
I think most people would.
But here is the problem:
A world like that does not happen by accident.
Harmony does not happen by accident.
A choir does not sing in harmony because everyone decides to make whatever noise they want.
Harmony takes intention.
It takes listening.
It takes self-control.
It takes someone being willing to adjust.
It takes people choosing to add something beautiful instead of just adding more noise.
And maybe that is part of what this world has lost.
Too many people are adding noise.
More anger.
More criticism.
More mocking.
More bitterness.
More hate.
And then they wonder why the world sounds so ugly.
But what if we chose differently?
What if we stopped adding to the noise?
What if we brought kindness into the room instead of tension?
What if we brought patience into a conversation instead of harshness?
What if we brought mercy into a moment where bitterness would have been easier?
What if we brought love into a world that is starving for it?
That is what Spreading The Luv is about.
Not pretending everything is fine.
Not ignoring the hatred, cruelty, and bitterness around us.
But choosing not to become part of it.
Choosing not to add to it.
Choosing instead to spread something better. Much better.
Because if we are honest, many people are not really waiting for a perfect world.
They are just waiting for someone to be kind first.
Someone to smile first.
Someone to listen first.
Someone to care first.
Someone to show them that love is still alive somewhere.
Why not let that someone be you?
Imagine the world you wish you lived in.
Now ask yourself:
Are you helping create it?
If you want more kindness, are you being kind?
If you want more patience, are you being patient?
If you want more love, are you spreading love?
If you want less hate, are you refusing to pass hate forward?
That is where the dream becomes real.
Not in a commercial.
Not in a song.
Not in a wish.
But in the way we live.
One person at a time.
One choice at a time.
One act of love at a time.
Imagine a world where love spread faster than hate.
Now imagine what could happen if people like you and me stopped only imagining it…
And started living it.
A Final Thought
The world will not become kinder by accident.
Love does not spread by accident.
Harmony does not happen by accident.
Someone has to choose it.
Someone has to live it.
Someone has to spread it.
So imagine a world like this…
Then help create it.
Because hate spreads.
But love can spread too.
Stand up in the fight against hate. Choose to spread the luv!
P.S. Oh... and by the way...
If you are old enough to remember that Coke song mentioned at the top of this page, do not even think about humming it to yourself.
You know it will get stuck in your head.
Just let it go.
But if it is already too late and the song is stuck in your head anyway...
You might as well get the lyrics right.
You can watch the video below.
"I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony)" is a pop song which originated as an advertising jingle, produced by Billy Davis and sung by the Hillside Singers, for Coca-Cola, and was featured in 1971 as a TV commercial. The Hillside Singers' version was released as a successful single the same year.
That was the original song, here is the coke commercial:
What do you say?
Let’s help the world find a little more harmony by spreading the luv.
