Take What You Need
I saw this image on Facebook recently, and it fits perfectly with the message of Spreading The Luv.
The sign says:
Take what you need.
Then it offers things like love, hope, faith, patience, courage, understanding, peace, passion, healing, strength, beauty, and freedom.
What a beautiful thought.
But as I looked at it, another thought came to mind.
For someone to take what they need, someone else has to be willing to give it.
That is the part we cannot miss.
The world needs love, hope, patience, peace, healing, and understanding.
But where do those things come from?
They come from people who are willing to give them.
Hate takes these things away.
Love gives them back.
That is one of the simplest ways to understand the difference between love and hate.
Hate steals hope.
Love gives hope.
Hate destroys peace.
Love brings peace.
Hate wounds.
Love helps heal.
Hate tears people down.
Love gives people strength.
Hate makes people feel trapped.
Love helps people breathe again.
Every day, we are presented with choices.
We can be givers.
Or we can be takers.
We can take away what is good by helping hate grow, or we can step up as the gardeners of life and plant the good things people need most.
Love.Hope.
Patience.
Courage.
Understanding.
Peace.
Healing.
Strength.
Kindness.
Compassion.
The question is, why do so many people make the wrong choice?
Maybe they have grown used to this world.
Maybe they have forgotten what love feels like.
Maybe hate has worn them down for so long that they believe the only way to survive is to fight hate with hate.
Maybe they are simply trying to protect themselves the only way they know how.
I understand that.
But hate does not heal what hate has damaged.
It only spreads the damage.
That is why the world is in such desperate need of kind, loving people who are willing to step up.
We are in a war against hate, but we do not win by becoming hateful ourselves.
We do not win by becoming cruel, bitter, or hard.
We do not win by tearing people down the same way hate tears people down.
We win by choosing something better.
We win by spreading the luv.
So here is the question:
Which kind of person do you want to see more of in this world?
Someone who helps hate grow?
Or someone who gives back what hate has taken?
Words are easy.
Actions reveal the truth.
Look around you.
There are damaged people everywhere.
Some need love.
Some need hope.
Some need patience.
Some need understanding.
Some need peace.
Some need healing.
Some need strength.
And maybe you are the person who can give them a little of what they need.
Not everything.
Not all at once.
But something.
A kind word.
A patient response.
A little encouragement.
A moment of understanding.
A reminder that they still matter.
A Final Thought
So yes, take what you need.
Take the love.
Take the hope.
Take the patience.
Take the courage.
Take the healing.
But do not stop there.
When you have something to give, give it.
When you have a kind word, speak it.
When you have patience to offer, offer it.
When you have a chance to help someone breathe a little easier, take it.
Because a lot of people are carrying more than they show.
And sometimes the very thing they need most is something simple that another person was willing to give.
So take what you need.
Then give what you can.
That is one way love begins to spread.
Stand up in the fight against hate. Choose to spread the luv!
P.S. If you meet another giver along the way, give to them too. Some people spend so much time pouring from their cup into others that everyone assumes they are fine. But givers need love too. So take a moment to spread a little luv their way.
